Ensemble Traversée reimagined Béla Bartók's Bluebeard's Castle as a multi-sensory experience, blending visual, auditory, and sensory elements to transport the audience into the heart of its mysterious realm. We were commissioned to design the key visual, promotional collateral, and the title typography. Drawing inspiration from the performance's immersive set—which featured a cold, stark atmosphere achieved through lighting and sharp geometry—we created a surreal, liminal space. The visual employs distorted dimensions to evoke uneasiness, a dark, cold color palette for atmosphere, and a light portal symbolizing the crucial 'doors' Judith must confront. Notably, the title typography was deliberately designed with a line break to invoke tension and a sense of traversal.
